Gertrude Gert Kneeskern, 70, of Richland died early Tuesday November 19, 2013, at her home in Richland. She was born June 16, 1943, in Wrenshall, Minnesota to Gilbert and Harriet DeJarlis Wolf. Gert grew up in Northern Minnesota and graduated from John Marshall High School in Rochester, MN and attended Rochester Junior College. She married Wayne Kneeskern in Rochester on May 6, 1967. Gert worked as a school secretary for several years then she and her husband owned and operated a motel in Cresco, IA. They moved to Richland in 1995 and she began working at the Richland branch of U.S. Bank. She was an active member of Sts. Joseph & Cabrini Church in Richland and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. Gert is survived by her husband and two children: Michelle Snyder (Jamie) of Richland and Scott Kneeskern (Jill) of Stillwater, MN, 9 grandchildren, two sisters: Sharon Wolf of Cresco, IA, Debra Wilkins of Ft. Dodge, IA, and two brothers: Ronald Wolf (Janice) of Owatonna, MN and Gilbert Wolf, Jr. (Tina) of Crystal Lake, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday November 23, 2013, at Mother Cabrini Church in Richland with Rev. Robert Striegel officiating. Burial will be in Richland Friends Cemetery. Prayers for a Christian Wake will be held at the church Friday evening at 5:30 P.M. followed by visitation with the family until 8 P.M. Memorials for Sts. Joseph & Cabrini Church or for Richland Friends Cemetery may be left at the church or mailed to the family at 400 North Washington Street, Richland, IA 52585.
