Get this....Michael had no idea why he was actually going to Arlington Cemetery today but its for his JROTC at St. Johns so I just get up early and take him knowing it will be a good part of the morning .... As we pulled up ...its backed up like were at the Super Bowl on to the GW Parkway ....dozens of tractor trailers are in a single line convoy from a wreath maker business owner from state of Maine who donates all the wreaths to all the tomb stones in the cemetery this day every year.... There have to be 50,000+ people here....I dropped Michael to walk to his JROTC group from St. Johns High School that were meeting at the entrance because I couldnt get closer then the memorial bridge and the parkway ... They cut traffic for all the tractor trailers behind our car.... In the end I had to park at the Pentagon...Im walking from the pentagon now I have absolutely no idea where I am as this cemetery is huge....I think I need a compass to get my bearings image1.jpeg I thought we were going to the Tomb Of Unknown Soldiers and watch the ceremony there and return home - later today go to the Army Navy Game with the family and some friends.... Looks like Im in for a long day here in VA putting wreaths on head stones of fallen veterans... Im happy Im here and the electricity around me is amazing with all these people and families and the excitement ...I only hope to find Michael today... Look this up on line... The opening ceremonies are at 9am... Hope to make it in time Its huge... I wonder if they did this on the same day as the Army v. Navy Game for the out of town tourist to go to the game Im serious - this is a must do event to add to your calendar .... Be sure you bring gloves unlike me freezing my fingers off typing this post.
