Getting caught up on reading Fb friends posts. So discouraged to still see the fact that cancer is used as scare tactics to get others to help those who ask for help. Its frustrating to those of us actually fighting with integrity and honor and a respect of what breast cancer is really about. Using this disease as a way to get others to pay attention to you when you need to start with yourself first is the first step as far as my opinion. If you dont try to do what you can do first, how do you expect others to step up and help? In the 9 + years of fighting this diagnosis and over 4 1/2 as stage 4, Ive seen a lot. But Ill keep hope alive any which way shape or form I can. My dear friend Michelle who fought stage 4 and inspired me, said it best in our conversations. Each day is a gift. We are judged for what we do with those days. The very ones we fight for. No one is more special than another. I dont use my diagnosis to glorify cancer at all. I use it to help myself better appreciate life and help my children better appreciate the gifts we get each day by sharing our lives. -the good and the bad. And with that, Im not afraid to die. Im looking forward to meeting Jesus and THAT is what this experience is about . Michelle embraced all that was happening around her. We each have obstacles that are in our lives and for some its worse than others. Bit in no way, should it be any more important. We are all in this together. Ill continue to try to help each person I meet in my life. Selfishness leads to obscurity of what it is we are to see. I GET it. Ive gotten it 5 years ago. When you get it youll know it.
