Getting geared up for the Orionids! They peak October 21, so your best chances for observing them are the morning of the 21st and the morning of the 22nd. Heres a video of 2 Orionid meteors from this morning, each seen from 3 different cameras positioned in Arizona. You can make out the 2 brightest stars of Orion, Rigel and Betelgeuse, if you trace each meteor backwards. Notice how they appear all over the sky? To observe the Orionids you dont want to look right at Orion, you want to fill your field of view with as much sky as possible!
