Getting my physical. Just about done. Doc is real nice. Everything came back normal and just have to get blood work done (since I already ate this morning). Heres where you nod to your doctor and why understanding research and data and also networking with those in the field is imperative for optimum health. He asks me if I do cardio. I lold. But I was honest. I told him no. I walk a lot and play soccer or basketball. He also recognizes me as a healthy, active male. He recommends 30 min of cardio 5x/week. I died inside. We know from the research and can indeed acquire aerobic heart training through interval work/HIIT as the work is anaerobic and the recovery is aerobic. It isnt necessary to do that much LISS unless of course, you like it or have such poor heart health or less than good physical health that you need a solid base. He asks me what supplements I take. I told him whey protein and creatine. He recognizes me as an active, healthy male. He tells me I should be getting in |---| protein whereas we (bodybuilders) take in |----------| protein. The research states optimal protein intake is 08-1.2g/lbs with a full, optimal and functioning kidney. ...remember folks...recommendations change as research evolves. Research isnt concrete but it is a VERY SOLID starting point. Some people learn what they need to learn to get wherever they want and fail to learn more. Acquire your knowledge so you can have the tools necessary to not fall victim to age-old practices.
