Getting worked up? Found an article that illustrates your discontent with government/religion/opposite gender? Cant seem to take your mind off of it, even for a second? You may have a problem. You get a little hit of dopamine when your views are challenged. Its like a drug and like a drug, it is damaging socially. Your friends/family are often too embarrassed/exhausted to be with you or are extremely careful about what they say around you for fear of unleashing the beast. You find yourself up late at night endlessly consuming content. You get irritated easily. Everything is an example of black or white. You must constantly defend your addiction to controversy to others. You see yourself as a thin line between your 382 friends and the take over of socialterrorcommufemichauvianarchocapitalextremaliberalconservatist aliens illegally here from Mexichinastan. If you think that civilization is going down the toilet, why not make the effort to be civil? Civilization is a collection of people making that choice. Why add to the problem? If that is your goal, why complain about it? Review your posts, how many of them are about something that pisses you off that you have little control over? If you answered more than 60 percent, I am talking to you. When was the last time you wrote about how you felt about the weather or something that you did? Your exploits are what is really mind blowing about social media. Go outside, look around, there is something for you out there. Take some pictures, tell us about the people you met, let us in on your sense of humor. See a play, ask someone out to dinner, stare into the sunset, love wildly, and be friendly to strangers. Youll be amazed at how effective this is at restoring or lowering your faith in humanity to a healthy, pragmatic balance. If you are still angry after that, go to reddit and rant anonymously like a grown up. Sincerely, Everyone.
