Ghana Information about the required supporting documents for Masters Degree applicants with education from Ghana. The International Education Office always verify submitted credentials with the issuing school/institution. If we are unable to verify your credentials, you will not be offered admission. All required documents must reach the International Education Office by the application deadline. Late or incomplete applications will not be processed. Please note that documents sent by email or fax will not be considered. Required documents What to submit How to submit Attestation Form (available 1 October) To be personally signed and submitted by the applicant. Recent photograph Attached to the Attestation Form. Copy of passport To be submitted by the applicant. Please note that only a copy of the ID-page is required. Documentation of name change (if applicable) Officially certified documentation of name change must be submitted by the applicant if name appears different in any document. Motivation letter A one-page letter stating your reasons for applying to the programme, e.g. background, course work in progress, educational objectives. If you apply for two programmes you must submit two separate motivation letters. Language documentation What to submit How to submit Documentation of English language proficiency Applicants that have completed university education in Ghana are exempt from submitting an English language test. Documentation of financing/ Quota documentation What to submit How to submit Officially certified documentation of financing Regular international applicants must document financing with their application. This documentation must be submitted by the applicant or a sponsor. Official documentation of linkage to a partner institution Quota applicants must document that they are linked to the partner institution, e.g. diploma/transcript, support letter from the institution, letter of employment, etc. Higher education What to submit How to submit Final degree certificate(s) To be submitted by the applicant. All copies of original certificates must be officially certified by the issuing institution. Note: Applications without an enclosed final Bachelors Degree certificate will not be considered. If you have completed your degree recently and not received your final degree certificate, please contact the International Education Office for further information. Transcript of records To be sent directly to the International Education Office by the issuing institution. Note: Only transcripts that are sent directly to the International Education Office will be considered. Translations If the language of the original document is not English, an official translation made by an authorized translator must be enclosed. Secondary education What to submit How to submit Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) OR West African Higher School Certificate (WAHSC) GCE A-level To be submitted by the applicant. Copies of original certificates must be officially certified by the awarding school/authority or by an authorized public office. Translations If the language of the original document is not English, an official translation made by an authorized translator must be enclosed. Applicants who wish to submit other documentation, in addition to that listed above, are welcome to do so (e.g. reference letter(s), documentation of professional experience, course descriptions, etc.). Please note that some programmes require documentation that is not listed here; refer to the relevant programme website for detailed information. Important: It is the applicants responsibility to submit all required documentation. The International Education Office does not have the capacity to contact individual applicants to inquire after missing documentation. It is the applicants responsibility to ensure that all required documents are received by us within the application deadline. As it may take several weeks for institutions and test centres to provide transcripts and/or test scores, please arrange for these documents to be sent as soon as possible. Submitted documents will not be returned to the applicant or the issuing institution.
