Ghana premier league side Amidaus Professionals have handed former Fifa referee Mercy Tagoe a spot on their technical bench. Tagoe, who is a former player of the senior national women’s team of Ghana, the Black Queens, has been harbouring a coaching dream even during her days as a top-notch referee. The 35-year-old retired from the refereeing profession last year after an illustrious career. She once won the best referee in Ghana and also officiated at Caf and Fifa organised women’s championships. The Caf License B holder will end up being the first female serving on the bench of a Premier League side in Ghana. Tagoe will be one of the assistant coaches of Amidaus Professionals during the 2013-14 season.
