Ghoradeshwar, 7th September 2014 We were 9 of us, with some serious plant and bird resource persons. Birds: Though nos werent large there was some really interesting birding - mixed hunting parties of upto 4 species of birds. Nesting of Scaly-breasted Munia, abandoned cup shaped nest of Dusky-crag martin with lots of droppings at the base, three species of prinia, two species of flowerpeckers. Monsoon flora: We saw a fantastic variety of medicinal herbs, with Dr. Ila & Santosh Bhor identifying them with the properties, uses etc. Some rare species too! Lots of monsoon flora!! Some geological observations including forming of quartz, onion peeling and buddhist rock-cut caves, 3 units with interesting details. Some interesting rock-geckos, Rashid will be identifying them and so much more. Wonderful morning 1. Black Kite 2. Laughing Dove 3. Crow Pheasant 4. Green Bee-eater 5. Wire-tailed Swallow 6. Dusky Crag Martin (abandoned nest with large number of droppings at the base) 7. House Crow 8. Red-vented Bulbul 9. Long-tailed Shrike 10. Grey-breasted Prinia 11. Plain Prinia 12. Jungle Prinia 13. Zitting Cisticola? 14. Indian Robin 15. Purple-rumped/ Purple Sunbird (female)? 16. Oriental White-eye 17. Thick-billed Flowerpecker - lifer for me :) 18. Pale-billed Flowerpecker 19. Scaly-breasted Munia (nest and in nest building) 20. Crested Bunting (male & female) including 1 male with some food? In its beak with Shilpa Laddha, Pravin Shrisunder, Prasad Shett, Santosh Bhor, Ajay Laddha, Jan Ali (Rashid), @Shishir Padwal, Ila Bhor
