Gimlet Families and Friends, On Friday 08 AUG 2014 all Oahu schools will be closed. A link is provided at the bottom with more information. Due to the impending storm, Soldiers will not be expected to work tomorrow and are not expected back to work until 0900 on Monday morning. Soldiers will be released no later than 1600 today. Currently, Hurricane Iselle is approximately 420 miles from Oahu and the outer ring is expected to impact on Oahu tonight around 2300 as a Tropical Storm with wind speeds between 39-73mph. Please remain tuned into local news and weather channels to monitor the storm conditions as well as the developing conditions of Hurricane Julio. As of now, we are expected to feel the effects of Julio sometime on Monday. If conditions worsen over the weekend for either storm, our Battalion Alert Roster will be used to keep Soldiers and families informed. -Gimlet 6
