Gina Cahan Watson tagged me in the 10 Book Challenge. Im supposed to limit my list to ONLY the 10 books that have left a lasting impact on me. Ill try. Here goes: 1. It - Stephen King. Scary. As. Hell. 2. The Stand - Stephen King. See a trend here? 3. The Dresden Files - Jim Butcher. Yeah, I posted a book series. Get over it. Then read this series. 4. The Hobbit - JRR Tolkien. 5. A Spell for Chameleon - Piers Anthony. The whole Xanth series is great, but this introduction to the fantasy genre had a HUGE impact on my 9 year-old imagination. 6. The Talisman - Stephen King and Peter Straub. 7. The Shining - Stephen Whats-His-Name. 8. Roadwork - Stephen King as Richard Bachman. Yes, this is a short story (part of the compilation The Bachman Books), but is a wonderful story about the incredible lengths a sould will go to for bloody revenge. 9. The Long Walk - Also part of The Bachman Books. I read this before The Lottery and it predates The Hunger Games by a gadjillion years. Similar principal, if more simplistic and bloody. 10. The Legend of Drizzt Series - RA Salvatore. Yeah, another series. They are wonderful fantasy books that glorify companionship and heroism... and magic. If you are inspired by this list, consider yourself tagged! What 10 books have had a major impact on you?
