Gita 4.27. . .(9) Biologist Sir Julian Huxley defines persons - TopicsExpress

Gita 4.27. . .(9) Biologist Sir Julian Huxley defines persons as INDIVIDUALS WHO TRANSCEND THEIR ORGANIC INDIVIDUALITY IN CONSCIOUS SOUL PARTICIPATION. I also said that I marked this in other universities also in U.S.A. The audience consisting of students, some professors, and some citizens accepted this remark (Cite: previous post Gita 4.27. . .(8)) without any resentment. My second lecture at the Harvard University was some 14 years later, on the subject of VIVEKANANDA AND HUMAN EXCELLENCE, which has been published as a booklet by the Advaita Ashrama, Calcutta 700014. I have referred earlier, in the introduction to this book, to the remark of Silvano Ariety, in the book, THE HANDBOOK OF AMERICAN PSYCHIATRY, Vol. 3, by several writers, about the deterioration of creativity of American youth and how to remedy it. As a boy of twelve years, I had an experience, narrated earlier in this book, which is relevant to refer to in this context. While going to school, I threw a stone at a youth, not expecting that it go that far; but it did hurt him. His parents complained to my mother; she was naturally upset. When I returned home from school in the evening , I found my mother sullen and grave. You have to receive ten canings, she said. I said, Yes I shall, for I have harmed that youth. Then the elder brother, in mothers presence, gave me ten canings on my palms. I received it and came and sat peacefully by my mothers side and soon forgot all about it. No trauma!
