Given that Australia has the highest rate of childhood allergies (1 in 10 children) I find it startling that a recent study found that 39% of Australian general paediatricians didnt know how to successfully diagnose IgE food allergies according to international standards. The system is falling apart due to sheer numbers, with average testing times in public taking over 10 months, and in private over 5 months.
