Given that a lot of people have a problem with the fox video doing so well Id like to make a few observations. Many people dont get what the song is trying to say. Its a parody on todays music.1) The silly lyrics are actually a jibe on the lack of lyrical depth in todays music. 2) The use of random sounds and the techno sort of beat along with the use of auto tune are a symbol of the extensive use of digital media in todays music. The random jarring sounds are trying to show how people just throw in silly sounds into songs for nothing. 3) The elaborate lighting and dancing along with the expensive sets in the music video show the unnecessary expenditure on music videos etc. for bad music 4) Notice how the dancers etc. wear animal dresses? That may be a jibe on musicians who rely on loud appearances to sell their music. 5) The singer has a serious expression throughout the song. That shows how artists today think they are creating deep music even though it the songs are ridiculous. I am not sure I agree with everything the video portrays but Im thrilled about the fact that its doing so well.If even a fraction of the audience gets the message the song is trying to show then Id say the future of music is pretty great.
