Given that you would have to be pathologically gullible to let conspicuously slimy characters like Al Gore and Rajendra Pachauri convince you that insufficient taxation and regulation are making it be too hot out, why have so many scientists allowed themselves to be stampeded with the low information voter herd? Hal Lewis explains: I think it is the money…. There are indeed trillions of dollars involved, to say nothing of the fame and glory (and frequent trips to exotic islands) that go with being a member of the club. Your own Physics Department (of which you are chairman) would lose millions a year if the global warming bubble burst. When Penn State absolved Mike Mann of wrongdoing, and the University of East Anglia did the same for Phil Jones, they cannot have been unaware of the financial penalty for doing otherwise. But people with courage and integrity continue to break ranks. Soon we will reach a tipping point, where scientists will have to denounce the hoax to have any professional credibility, government grants and media fawning be damned. Then the entire climate change farce, which has cost the world untold fortunes, will collapse like a house of cards. In the meantime, Obama’s EPA is working feverishly to exploit the hoax to restrict our liberties before it is forced to shift to another hysterical lie.
