Given the anger that the nation of South Africa has about the ambulance breakdown, at a time when carrying President Mandela, I thought I would add my 2 cents worth. I would like to simply say that from time to time, machines do break down, sometimes not because of lack of maintenance, but just that, that machines do break down. Let me quote a few of VIPs that have had their mode of transportation breakdown. President Thabo Mbeki had a breakdown in London in his presidential jet, he had to catch a lift on a Saudi Princes jet on his onward journey to the United States. This is the reason that Mousiua Lekota while he was minister of defence had to buy the Boeing Business Jet,the one which is called "Inkwazi", the one the DA was up in arms about. The new Boeing was then inherited by President Zuma, who also had a breakdown in it, he had to leave it behind on a visit to Zimbabwe. Remember the recent shadow plane that accompanied the president to the United States, the one created the uproar, it was because Inkwazi had just been overhauled, and in case there was a problem, the president will transfer to a different plane. Most recent was Barrack Obama on his visit to Israel, his presidential limousine broke down, while the advance team was learning the route he was going to travel, a replacement vehicle had to be brought in. All I am saying is that machines do break down at an unexpected moment, it is just sad that it was such an old man inside, that is how machines are.
