Given the recent nicer weather, Ive been doing a few estimates for area homeowners. After the Winter of Our Discontent, its nice being able to get out and do a few things instead of just sitting in the office and waiting for the warmer weather. I am amazed at the number of roofing companies serving our area that attempt to roof during the winter. People, dont be fooled by a fast talking, BS spewing salesman - asphalt shingles need a minimum of 55 degrees to properly seal down and I recommend a minimum of 5 days in a row of 55 degree weather to guarantee the roof will seal. If not installed properly, the manufacturer doesnt have to provide a warranty on your newly installed roof. Im not saying if you do have a problem, the company who just installed your roof wont honor a warranty. What I am saying is why take the chance? Waiting for warmer weather only makes sense. Any conscientious roofer will install your roof when its in YOUR best interest, not his. That means we wait until the weather is conducive to install your roof. Call a professional who cares and youll never regret your decision.
