Global African Presence - ***REPOST***Family, a person, I think well meaning, just sent me a private email saying that if I did not repent that I would go to hell. I confess that it gave me my first laugh of the day. I assume that she meant that I should repent from all of this Africa stuff. Why do we cling to such beliefs? Is it just because this is what we have been taught? She kept insisting that I tell her my religious affiliations. So here it is. I believe that god is all around me. I equate god with nature and all of the powers of the universe. I further believe that how I interact with god is my business. I say that if you are a Christian, fine with me. If you are a Muslim, fine with me. If you are Jewish, fine with me. If you are a Jehovahs Witness, Catholic, Seventh Day Adventist, that is just great. If you practice Ifa, Voodoo, Condomble, Santeria, Winti, Bahai, fine with me. If you worship a door nob or nothing at all, fine with me. But please, leave me to practice what works for me and stay out of my spiritual business!
