Glory be to God for the mercy the federal judge showed my brother today. I knew I appeared in court on a long shot, but the judges deputy clerk had inspired me a week ago when she said that she would never encourage anyone not to try. Her words echoed scripture: Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. When Adams case was called, I stood before the judge with no authority, no attorney and no brother, the plaintiff in the case. Although the judge raised his objection to the motion I filed on behalf of my brother and explained that he does not have authority to allow me to represent Adam because I am not licensed, he showed mercy on my brother and gave him 60 days to find an attorney. The judge could have easily dismissed the case based on Adams failure to appear in court. For this reason, I know God gave the judge a merciful heart and in turn Adams hope for justice is still possible.
