Glute bridge with Hip thrust (bottom, back, abs, hamstrings, - TopicsExpress

Glute bridge with Hip thrust (bottom, back, abs, hamstrings, quads, hip flexors) This is one of my favourite exercises!!!! This is a great one for strengthening our all important Glutes! Having a strong bottom isnt only eye candy fabulous... but its also important for our bodies functionality and to reduce risk of injury. Strengthening our bottom will not only get us a great behind but will improve our posture and reduce lower back pain (common for people with a desk job, or who are sedimentary day to day). As a runner Hip thrusts are super important...the body expands most power during the hip extension phase of running; this exercise helps because it targets the primary muscles used during hip extension. Poor hip extension can contribute to strain in areas like the IT band and Achilles. I like to do my bridges on the sofa as it allows me to get a good range through my Glute thrusts, there are loads of variations but it may be more ideal for runners to practice bridging with a neutral pelvis on the floor, which allows a better stabilisation of the spine.
