God Is There.... Just Say A Prayer....... GOD IS THERE…. JUST SAY A PRAYER It was just about dusk on a cloudy rainy night Thought I’d stop off at a homely little restaurant For a bite…. I’d been traveling for a couple of days In a sad way , for the friend I left behind Wishing to be forgiven for the mistakes we made Asking over and over for “God to be my guiding light” Worried and depressed I sat down at the table of this Cozy little nest…. , with four tables in the middle and Two on each side…. And then I ordered up a tidy little meal A grey haired man , with a tear in his eye … came to my table And said, “do you mind if I sit with you for a spell…” I looked at him, said , go ahead , pull up a chair .my names Bill, And he said … now look here, I know its been a hard few days But let me tell you a little bit about God’s will….and grace... Makes no matter what you and your friend have done Just ask God to forgive you , my son I know your sorry and your friend is in despair You Drank and you partied and gambled with life And you’re sorry ….. The help you seek is in a prayer Your friend reacted with rage and hate, to the words you tried to say So finally you gave up and went on your way Don’t fret about your friend, for God surely does understand And as sure as I am sitting here with you God is with your friend And He will be there with him, as I am here with you Just say a prayer for your fiend , and let God move… And then the sadness I felt …. Just disappeared So I closed my eyes , said a prayer, and when I looked up The old man was not there… As the waitress brought my food, she said ‘it sure has been a slow rainy night, …you’re The only one that’s been here in the past two hours tonight When I finished my meal and started my journey again My spirit was renewed and I realized in whose presence I had been ..................and what I had just been through And I know , my friend , that God is there for you too… Written by …..RL HALL © November 2013 All rights reserved
