God can change your life, but you have to change your habits. You change your habits by accepting Jesus in your life, when you do that the Holy Spirit will dwell in you. Jesus said in John 14:15 if you love me keep my commands, I will ask the Father and he will give you another advocate to help you forever- the Spirit of Truth.the world cannot accept him because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. So when he is in you , you become a spiritual being. There are lots of people who we say are christians and yet they do wrong things, why is that, its because they are not really born again, the spirit does not reside in them, they are just religious beings.when the Spirit lives in you, you become righteousness. You become a new being, you live for the kingdom of God and not man. Going to church every day does not make you rightenous, God is not confined in the four walls only. God is every where. When the spirit is in you, you cannot help yourself, you love, you become kind, when you see the poor your heart pains. You live like Jesus lived, because he is in you. God works through you. John said in 1 John 2:5 but if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them. this is how we know we are in him. Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did. Take note that it is said IN not around, there some whom the holy spirit lives around them not IN them. When its in you, you cannot help yourself but do good. If you read the old testament all the great prophets before they started , the said the spirit of the lord came upon them from moses to jesus himself. Saul changed and became Paul the great apostle after the Spirit came upon him. So do you have the spirit of the Lord in you? If not pray to the father to anoint you with the spirit.
