God feels our sorrow more than we do (Daily Encouragement Plus with Ike Idegbema) “And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows.” (Exodus 3: 7) Bible Reading: Exodus 3: 1-12, Isaiah 53: 1-6 When it is like we are in an unending dark tunnel of trials that is bringing fear into our hearts, we can find comfort and reassurance in knowing that God feels our sorrow than we do; He knows all about worries. With great compassion, He extends His arms of protection and consolation when earth’s sorrows invade our peace. In His everlasting refuge, we can find the help we need. For well over 400 years, the Israelites were severely oppressed in Egypt. It is possible that within those dreadful years many of them gave up hope and concluded that God doesnt know and doesnt care, but in our text for today, God said, “I know their sorrows.” You may have been wondering if God really knows and cares about you, God is saying to you this morning, “I know your sorrows, and I care!” God is fully aware of our troubles and He actually comes into our suffering with us. Writing about God’s concern in the sorrows of His people, Prophet Isaiah declared, “In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old.” (Isaiah 63: 9) When the days are weary and the long and dark night gloomy, rest in the assurance that the Savior cares. The Lord God sympathizes with us in our times of fear and deepest need. Isaiah 53: 4 says, “Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows” It is very comforting to know that not only did our savior bear our sins, but He also carry our sorrows. Our sorrows are felt more deeply in heaven above than in the earth below.
