God is a God of order, even the hairs on our heads are numbered! Who else could know us that intimately? Only the One Who created us, who numbered our days before we were even conceived, much less born! He has a specific purpose for each one He calls His own, but we need to be attentive to His Voice in order to know His purpose , much less fulfill it. Too many come to God with their own ideas about what they et think He wants them to do then expect Him to bless their acts of self-will. God doesnt operate like that. But He does let us run ahead of Him at times and let us fall flat on our faces. Then when we go looking for Him, He is up ahead waiting for us asking what took us so long. Sometimes we need to go around that same mulberry bush more than a few times before we finally get dizzy or we finally get what God is trying to tell us! The Israelites wandered for 40 years plus until they finally got it. We can be a bit slow on the uptake at times. It is imperative that we know who we are in Christ. Like the saying goes, if you have to ask you cant afford it. If you have to question whether or not you are saved, its a good chance that you are not. If we question who we are in God, then even though He knows us intimately, He will question Who He is to us. Ouch. Not an enviable position to be in. The children of Israel learned fast who they were and what their purpose was in Him and quickly. Obedience was not learned quite so quickly, as it is with us. It takes us a few spins on the carousel too before we finally get it. Good thing God is patient and rich in mercy...because boy do we need it.
