Yet at times, I need courage even when no danger or difficulty is apparent. I need courage when unfounded fears cloud my mind and heart. I need courage when I have allowed circumstances to distract me from God’s good and ever-present power. No matter what has caused my fear, I can look beyond appearances to the reality—to God—and take courage. Knowing there is One Presence and One Power gives me the courage to stand strong and release any fears. I know God is present for myself, for my family and friends, and for people all over the world who are facing challenges of any kind. Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord.—Psalm 31:24
