“God never gives foolish instructions” Thank you for all the feedback received. Be strong and of good courage! Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. – Joshua 1:9 Joshua faced the task of leading a group of desert nomads against the trained armies of established kingdoms. That would be enough to make even the bravest man afraid. The Israelites were concluding 40 years in the wilderness due to fear. What they saw as impossible kept them from doing what God had wanted. They could have entered the Promised Land years earlier, except for fear. But now was the time and the place and God did more than give Joshua a battle plan or a pep talk; He reassured him, saying, I will be with you wherever you go. Fear not. God does not promise He will not lead you into fearful situations. He may call you to serve Him in distant lands or God may ask you to stand up for Him right where you are. In either case, you may be quite afraid Sometimes the biggest fears are right at home. But just like Joshua, you can do it because God also has given you the solution for the fear: He has given you Himself. Are you strong and courageous? Are you willing to go to the next level? Are you ready for change and new challenges? A man said to his friend: Man, theres nothing like getting up at five in the morning, going for a run around the park, and taking a brisk shower before breakfast. To which the friend casually asked, Yah? How long have you been doing this, anyway? he answered, I will start tomorrow. Can you identify with that, Lord, Ill do it, first thing tomorrow, I promise. (And you have been doing it even today. How sensible are you? Do you think you can accomplish much without asking for Gods help? Do you then wonder why you are discouraged and afraid? Like Joshua, you can go forward with strength and with courage because you know that God is with you. God has promised to be with you, guiding you holding you close. God is here and will not fail you or forsake you. But do you really believe it? If so, its time to start taking steps toward being a person like Joshua, who can be with Gods help, strong and courageous for Christ. 1) You need to be able to accept change in your life: You need to let go of the past and be willing to move forward, to start fresh, and to take a new step, or a giant leap, when God calls for it. Its time for you to move on. God said to Joshua, Moses my servant is dead its time now for you to move on. Turn the page You should ask yourself today and every day in prayer, What page in my life needs to be turned? What part of the past am I hanging on to? In what ways do I allow yesterday to hold me back? 2) You must stand on the promises with confidence and assurance: This is what God wants for you, in every area of your life Confidence and assurance in Him=security. The reason for fear is a lack of security. Those who have riches stored up in Christ, can walk forward in full knowledge that He is with us always, and will never abandon us, and in this we can be confident and without fear. Just as He promised Joshua, No one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life. 3) Don’t let fear tell you otherwise: Whether you realize it or not, whether you acknowledge it or not, you are never out of Gods sight. He sees you all the time. Hes with you all the time. He watches over you all the time Remember: In Christ you have strength for every weakness and the courage for every fear. Courage is not the absence of fear. It is acting in spite of your fear. It is doing the right thing in spite of your fear.
