God, though we are grown, there are days when, more than anything else, we need a mommy to comfort us, protect us, hold us, and love us. The news is depressing. The economic outlook is gray. The job prospects are grim. The international scene is turbulent. It seems that, at any time, things could take a turn for the worse and our lives could turn upside down, out of control. In those times, help us remember that you are there for us, ready to comfort, protect, hold, and love us- ready to mother anyone who calls out to you. Thank you for being a loving mother to our nation and for being a nurturing mother to each of us individuals. Amen.
