Gods Judgments Are Always Perfect “All those who sinned - TopicsExpress

Gods Judgments Are Always Perfect “All those who sinned without the law will also perish without the law, and all those who sinned under the law will be judged by the law” (Romans 2:12). God shows His fairness and impartiality by judging people according to what has been revealed to them. If a person has been exposed to the Law of Moses, then God will judge that person according to the law. If a person has never been exposed to the Law of Moses, then that person will be judge accordingly. Many people in the history of the world have not been exposed to the Law of Moses or the gospel of Jesus Christ. God will judge them according to their knowledge. But ignorance of God’s law and Jesus Christ doesn’t get anyone into God’s heaven. Everyone knows there is a God (Romans 1:19-20), and God has placed within everyone’s conscience a knowledge of righteousness and wickedness (Romans 2:15). Those who have had God’s truth revealed to them, and turn their back on it, will suffer the greater punishment. “For the hearers of the law are not righteous before God, but the doers of the law will be declared righteous” (Romans 2:13). This Greek word that is translated into the word “hearers” is “akroatesand” and it means constantly hearing, like an educational process. That’s what the religious leaders in Israel did, they constantly heard the Law of Moses every day, week after week, and year after year. They were professional hearers, but they didn’t obey the Law of Moses. Their daily walk didn’t match their daily talk. James said, “But be doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves…and not a forgetful hearer but one who does good works (James 1:22, 25). God’s Ten Commandments doesn’t protect hearers from God’s judgment—it only condemns anyone who fails to keep the Ten Commandments perfectly. The more we know about God’s law, the more it condemns us because God requires perfect obedience—something humans cannot do. Only faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior gives us eternal life in God’s heaven! “When Gentiles, who do not have the law, instinctively do what the law demands, they are a law to themselves even though they do not have the law” (Romans 2:14). Not having God’s law doesn’t make us Gentiles innocent! Why? “What can be known about God is evident among them, because God has shown it to them. For His invisible attributes, that is, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen since the creation of the world, being understood through what He has made. As a result, people are without excuse” (Romans 1:19-20). Humans know that God exists, and we still commit sin, even though we know it is wrong. Humans write laws to promote good actions and suppress evil actions—those laws prove that humans have God’s laws in our conscience and in our hearts. We judge and condemn other people for their wickedness, which proves we know the difference between righteousness and wickedness—we actually condemn ourselves by our critical and judgmental words toward other people!” (Romans 2:1-2). “They show that the work of the law is written on their hearts. Their consciences confirm this. Their competing thoughts will either accuse or excuse them on the day when God judges what people have kept secret, according to my gospel through Christ Jesus” (Romans 2:15-16). The word “conscience” means co-knowledge within oneself. It’s that inner sense of what is right and wrong—this moral consciousness judges our attitudes, motives, words and actions. God gives humans the reasoning power to know the difference between right and wrong. When we habitually violate our conscience our ungodly attitudes, motives, words, and actions will become worse and worse. Our conscience becomes dull, and we pay less and less attention to our inner knowledge of God. God will judge humanity by our innermost attitudes, motives, thoughts and actions. If Jesus Christ isn’t your Lord and Savior while you are on this earth, then Jesus Christ will be your judge at the great White Throne Judgment (Revelation 20:11-15). God’s heaven, or the lake of fire; it’s our choice! Carlin Lawrence
