Gods Wife (Author Unknown) [Comments from Chris Long at end] A little boy about 10 years old was standing before a shoe store on the roadway, barefooted, peering through the window, and shivering with cold. A lady approached the boy and said, My little fellow, why are you looking so earnestly in that window? I was asking God to give me a pair of shoes, was the boys reply. The lady took him by the hand and went into the store and asked the clerk to get half a dozen pairs of socks for the boy. She then asked if he could give her a basin of water and a towel. He quickly brought them to her. She took the little fellow to the back part of the store and, removing her gloves, knelt down, washed his little feet, and dried them with a towel. By this time the clerk had returned with the socks. Placing a pair upon the boys feet, she purchased him a pair of shoes. She tied up the remaining pairs of socks and gave them to him. She patted him on the head and said, No doubt, my little fellow, you feel more comfortable now? As she turned to go, the astonished lad caught her by the hand, and looking up in her face, with tears his eyes, answered the question with these words: Are you Gods Wife? ---------------- Comments from Chris: Oh if we could only be more like that woman. God became man. And as a man right before His trial and death, He washed the feet of his disciples. Thats right, God - the all knowing, all powerful being, washed the muddy, dirty feet of His imperfect creation. Jesus modeled for us how we are to act towards one another - He was a model for all of humanity. If God is able to kneel and wash anothers dirty feet, dont you think we as humans can do the same? Maybe God isnt calling you to literally bend down and wash someones feet (though He definitely COULD be!). But He IS doing so figuratively. A focal point of our Christian walk should be in learning and growing how to be better servants - both of God and of our fellow man - not for our own gain or self-interests - but because it is what Jesus teaches we should do. People can either see the love of the Creator in us or they can see a bunch of hypocrites who say they love the Lord but yet only take that love so far. Our lives either point people to Jesus by letting them see the life of Christ Himself inside of us or they turn them away from Jesus - either way our lives paint a picture. God loves us. Let us share that love with others. Our actions speak volumes. People are watching what we do. May we all strive to come up higher in our love walk with both God and others. May the Lord bless each one of you today! Love from your fellow co-laborer and servant in Christ, Chris
