Gods Word For Today November 26, 2014 The Moment of Truth Read Acts 25:1 through 26:32 It was a gripping scene: With great pomp, King Agrippa and Bernice entered Festus’ courtroom. Before them stood Paul, who was due to appear before Caesar. Radical Jews accused him of being a troublemaker, which wasn’t a serious enough crime to warrant a trial in Rome. Festus wanted Agrippa to hear Paul, so Agrippa could help with the case. Then Agrippa said to Paul, “Do you think that in such a short time you can persuade me to be a Christian?” (Acts 26:28). Agrippa’s mind accepted the message as truth, but his heart would not. Perhaps if he believed in Christ, his position in government would be affected, and he would need to make drastic changes in his lifestyle. The gospel has the power to change people’s minds and hearts—if they let it. The heart is the seat of one’s affections and will. Acknowledge Christ as the only hope for your sin-scarred soul. Then allow the resurrected Lord to revolutionize your speech, lifestyle, and habits. Christ in your heart makes you a new person. Prayer Suggestion: Dear God, change my heart. Make it wholly Yours.
