Gods Word for Today: A voice of one calling: “In the wilderness prepare the way for the Lord[a]; make straight in the desert a highway for our God.[b] 4 Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low; the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain. 5 And the glory of the Lord will be revealed, and all people will see it together. For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.” Prayer: Lord, I know this passage mostly refers to John the Baptist...its a prophecy about how his ministry would be but it also describes the role of the Old Testament prophet generally and perhaps those of us who in some way fulfill that role today. Help me to prepare the way of the Lord but making the way plain for all to see and hear and understand..the nature of our loving God in sending His Son Jesus to be the propitiation for our sin (taking the wrath and anger of God the Father against our sin completely away). Help me not to cower or back off from this challenge but rise up to it and not worry about the approval of man nor fear mans reaction. I only seek Your approval Lord.
