Gods mixing of colors of flowers in the Loblolly is so eloquent and artistic. Everything He blends fits together; colors that professionals say clash in man made products never clash when they are fitted together by God. Years ago, when I was a child, we took a trip to Rock Mountain National Park. My dad would constantly stop the car and take pictures that his quick eyes would pick up. Back then, it was considered clashing to wear blue and green together. I remember my dad taking pictures of Rocky Mountain pines against the backdrop of rich blue Colorado skies. I remember one time when he said, People dont know what theyre talking about. Just look at that, the way those green trees match up with that blue sky, and the way God put it together. He knows what He is doing. That He does, and the examples He gives of mixing colors comes out in our lives, the way He seemingly mixes challenges with blessings, good times and what we see as bad times at the same time, different personalities and cultures. It reminds me of the Sunday School song, red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in His sight, or the rock song of several decades ago, ebony and ivory. What a masterful blender He is. Grant it, sometimes it takes a glance back to see how the mixing created such beautiful hues in our growth and character in Christ. But, as the Bible says in Rom 8:28, And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. Notice the key, to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. Is it any wonder that I appreciate Gods colors in our hearts more when I walked from a Lob thinking, this is my Fathers World?
