Godzilla Revealed... in Black and White The brand new Godzilla has been revealed via the following Empire magazine cover, only it’s in black and white. And even though it’s more of an artistic rendering than an actual photo, it does give us our very first “clean” look at what the new Godzilla looks like, right up to his facial features. “Trying to get the face right was the main thing,” says Gareth Edwards, director of the new Godzilla. “I guess he’s got more of a bear’s face, or a dog’s. We also used eagle. There’s a lot of nobility in an eagle. It made him feel very majestic and noble.” Explains the magazine, Edwards also used London-based motion-capture facility The Imaginarium and its head, one Andy Serkis, on certain sequences to “control the souls” (as Edwards puts it) of his creations. Monsters‘ Gareth Edwards directs the all star cast including Elizabeth Olsen, Bryan Cranston, Aaron Johnson, Juliette Binoche, David Strathairn, Ken Watanabe, Richard T. Jones, Sally Hawkins, Akira Takarada, Victor Rasuk, Yuki Morita, and C.J. Adams. In theaters May 16, 2014, an epic rebirth to Toho’s iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure pits the world’s most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity’s scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence. Making his first appearance in 1954 (Gojira) Godzilla is a giant monster that lives in the sea that comes from the ocean to feed on mankind.
