God’s power comes to us by God’s Spirit, not by our resolve or tenacity. His eyes are looking for those whose hearts have been broken and surrendered to Him. He is looking for those to whom and through whom He can be strong. God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful.God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important.As a result, no one can ever boast in the presence of God. 1 Corinthians 1:27-29 NLT God never wants us in the place of self-sufficiency, self-confidence, or self-reliance, but in the place of finding our sufficiency in Him alone (2 Corinthians 3:5). As believers, everything we have and everything we are has come to us by grace, through faith. The only thing we could bring to Him was an empty heart. Through the Gospel, God says to us, “Through My Son, let me be to you all you cannot be; let me give to you all you do not have; let me reveal to you all you do not see; let me do through you all you cannot do.” May God find each of us weak enough to know how much we need Him…all the time! - Roy Lessin
