Going to be contacting peeps whove booked in advance. I hate to do this, but Ive booked people only to have held places for nothing. I absolutely HATE turning people down because of full weekends. Lately, these bookings have turned into me chasing customers down through facebook or non-working numbers. From this day forward, any customer wanting to book, must come to the shop and pay a deposit to hold a spot--no exceptions! This is how I make my living, and I depend on bookings to pay the bills, so when someone says, Oh, Im sorry, I dont need one tomorrow after all, that knocks me out of income, not to mention a spot held back from someone who really wanted a cake from my shop. Next week I will be contacting those who currently hold spots on my books for birthday cakes, and make arrangements for deposits. Nothing personal, but a baker has got to keep the lights on!
