The brumbies that lived on Fraser Island KGari - A jewel in the crown of Australia deserve the same respect as all other beings, and removal was best option for them and island. Consuming sand covering/binding vegetation, with very little grasses, consuming mass amounts of sand causing starvation and bloating and impacted development of hooves having soft feet Where were their defenders????? Contradictions are prolific in the mis- information lip served The dingoes on FI had a different culture as there was no large prey endemic to island so adapted and hunt solitary... they do not need to work together for prey as they dont have large prey on FI Just like humans, the humpbacks of Hervey Bay which have a different culture to the migrating whales that dont enter the bay, witnessing as I worked the whale boats When dingo went for foal it was a high failure rate as only short window while foal was trying to get to his feet, the mares did nothing but the stallion went ballistic and dingo would charge in knowing he had high probability of being kicked from here to kingdom come Shacking it off coming back in, giving up once foal was up Very few understand the FI dingoes and their unique culture and adaptation to their sand environment of only small prey thus being solitary hunters and scavengers Human interference with feeding and interaction without understanding are changing the culture of the impacted dingoes Note Park Rangers were instructed to bury carcusses as unsightly so interfering again with the dingoes role leaving carcass after dining on entrails for all other prey birds, insects and reptiles etc....and the brumbies existence on island was only about 150 years, not long enough to become part of an ecosystem that could not really support them without the needed sustainable grasses.
