Going to the neighborhood shop this morning spotted a Police Jeep standing at the corner with the cops standing around. On the other side of the road a young boy 5-6 years was walking along with his mother. On seeing the cops the boy left his moms hand and ran across the road and shook hands with the cops and wished them Happy Diwali. Should have seen the look on the faces of the cops as their faces lit up. The innocence and purity of the boy set me thinking -- as all of us celebrate our festivals with friends and family -- think and spare a thought for all those who ensure the wheels of society keep moving on. the cops on the road, the soldiers on the border, the firemen, the linesman at your local electricity substation, the nurses and docs in the hospital, the people at the train station, airport the pilots, train drivers, the waiters in the restaurants you frequent -- spare a thought for them as they spend their time away from their loved ones so that you can.
