GoldNApel 08/29/2013 We Are Vindicated! After nearly 50 years work championing the kind herb, I am ecstatic to know that the US Government is essentially going to allow states to decide their own fate with cannabis laws, provided they regulate appropriately and enforce those regulations and that all involved follow those regulations, like all of us in the industry seek to do. I would like to thank everybody who has worked with me over the years in this noble cause. That would include those who … after their first use at a rock concert, or a peace rally, or a triathlon … realized that the kind herb had an inherent goodness, realized the injustice of its persecution, and became advocates for the cause that we are celebrating a victory in today. I would like to thank Dennis Peron and Brownie Mary Rathbun and District Attorney Terence Hallinan for pioneering the cause in San Francisco in the early 1990s, and allowing the first incarnation of Dharma to come to life in 1996. I would like to thank AG Kamala Harris for the edibles regulations in San Francisco that she implemented in her term as San Francisco District Attorney following Terence’s, and for her actions as California Attorney General allowing the MMJ industry to grow as it has. I, of course, want to thank Gavin Newsom for his helping hand during his groundbreaking and revolutionary term as mayor of San Francisco, and his enlightened stance on medicinal cannabis as Lt. Governor of California, including his quotes in support of SK3, a company I work with now. I would like to thank everyone who worked with Dharma Producers Group when we opened our dispensary in San Francisco in 1996, those who helped in the formative years of YAK/Dharma prior to the last major easily-defined turning point in this cultural progression, the 2008 Holder memo, after which Dharma incorporated as the not-for-profit Dharma Patients Cooperative, Inc. I especially wish to thank those who worked with us thru the dark years when we realized that the Ogden memo was not what we thought, and we had to unbrand our beloved YAK, and take the Care and Hospice Program somewhat underground in order to continue to serve our patients. Hopefully this time around, we can … as Steve at Harborside likes to say, “come out of the shadows, and into the light” … and stay there this time. I also especially wish to thank the crews at Dharma/YAK and Berkeley Bio. Your dedication to the cause and company has been spectacular. I thank you all for sharing my vision that the Dharma Care and Hospice Program and Dr. Apel’s work at Berkeley Bio were presented with a golden opportunity … one that would take the projects to the next level … when we merged Berkeley Bio with SK3, and arranged for SK3 management of YAK edibles and the Dharma Care and Hospice Program. I wish to thank Art, Kevin, Jeff, Henry, Hong, Paul, Roy, Josh, Mike, and the rest of the crew at SK3, iEquity, and Medical Greens for providing us with the talent and resources to make this all happen for us, as they continue to put together a compassionate corporation (I always thought these two words together would always be an oxymoron. I do not now) designed to bring the healing power … and the overall goodness … of the kind herb to the entire world. SK3 is putting together a collection of companies designed to work with each other, with government, and with the world of finance, to effectively bring our vision to the entire upcoming brave new world of cannabis. I am proud to say that I am helping with business development. We are in talks with a number of cannabis businesses that supply goods and services to the dispensary community, and I am meeting some wonderful people. I hope I get to meet each of you if I have not already. The knowledge and integrity of Sovereign is renowned industry-wide, and the potency and purity of their legendary Sovereign OG strain is perfect for the work Dr. Apel is currently researching … with very promising first results, I might add. In case it is not clear, in the proverbial nutshell, our new company SK3 is seeking to acquire, merge, or affiliate with existing companies with a solid track record, good fundamentals, the highest integrity, and solid management that supply quality services or products to collectives and their patients. If you fit this description, please talk to us. In conclusion, before we go and pop a bottle of Olde 420 Deadhead Draft Hempinstead Ale to celebrate, I again want to thank everyone else who is celebrating today. People who worked so hard, and sacrificed so much, to make this possible. People who have kept the faith through the times of oppression in spite of the risk, people who share our vision for the future, and are celebrating our past efforts together today. We did it, gang! Now let’s get down to the business of helping to make patients’ quality of life better! Dave Hey everyone! We welcome input and will gladly answer any questions. Just use the message feature here on the facebook page and I will be happy to reply.
