Golden Temple devotees prepare langar for flood affected people in Jammu & Kashmir DailybhaskarSep 13, 2014, 03:04:00 PM IST Amritsar: Several devotees of Golden temple and members of Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) in prepared food for people of Jammu and Kashmir affected due to horrific floods in the region. Army sought help from SGPC after which they prepared food for at least one lakh people stranded and affected in the state. The manager of Golden Temple Partap Singh said that Army officials asked them to prepare one lakh food packets for flood affected people after they came in contact with President Avtar Singh Makkar. All the devotees helped in preparing the chapattis as well as vegetable. The food was further packed into aluminium foil and the packets were handed over to army. These food packets ahve been provided in addittion to the relief material already being provided by SGPC to Jammu & Kashmir flood victims. Image: PTI representational picture.
