But those interested in taking part in the Friday, Nov. 1, tournament at Les Vieux Chenes should enter quickly, since the afternoon session is more than half full and the newly-inaugurated morning session is nearing double-digit entries. The four-person scramble has 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. shotgun starts and is limited to 30 teams in each. Entry fee is $125 per player or $500 per team, and players may make up their own four-person team or may enter as individuals to be paired up into teams. A team handicap index is used so that all teams will have a chance at the Cajun-themed prizes that will go to the winning squads. Entry forms are now available at all local golf courses as well as several other golf-related outlets in the area, and entry forms may be obtained by calling 857-8754. In addition, a secure online entry form is available through the Alumni Associations LouisianaAlumni.org web site by clicking on the 2013 Homecoming Bill Bass Open Golf Tournament line under Upcoming Events, and scrolling to the bottom and clicking Click Here to Register. Players may register and pay fees from their computers or mobile devices and save the trouble of mailing entry forms. AND UL BASEBALL: The Ragin Cajun baseball program will hold its annual fund-raiser tournament this Monday with a 1 p.m. shotgun start at Le Triomphe. The four-person scramble raises funds for assistant coach salaries and is open to the first 30 teams to register. Registration and lunch begin at 11:30 a.m., and prizes will go to the top three teams. Entry fee is $250 per player or $1,000 per foursome and includes a tournament golf shirt, a UL baseball shirt and hat and all food and beverages on the course. Last-minute entries and tournament information are available from the Chitimacha Louisiana Open office at 124 Heymann Blvd., Suite 202, Lafayette, LA 70503, or by calling 593-8000.
