Below is your forecast for tomorrow. ____________________________________________________ This is the Official Forecast for Friday 30th of May 2014 for Gladstone to Cooktown and west to Mt Isa. ____________________________________________________ Weather Situation A high in the Tasman Sea extends a weak ridge along the east coast of Queensland. A new high will enter the Tasman Sea tomorrow, reinforcing the ridge along the east coast. A trough will enter western Queensland on Saturday and shift slowly east over the interior during the weekend. Forecast for the rest of Thursday Isolated showers about the central and east tropical coasts. Fine and mostly clear through the remainder of the state. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds for most parts, fresh at times near the east tropical coast. Friday 30 May Isolated to scattered showers about the exposed east coast with some isolated shower activity extending into the eastern interior during the day. Fine and mostly sunny conditions about the remainder of the state with maximum temperatures remaining several degrees above the average. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds for most parts, fresh at times near the east tropical coast. Saturday 31 May The high will remain slow moving in the Tasman Sea, maintaining a firm ridge over eastern Queensland. Moist onshore winds will produce isolated showers over eastern districts, more scattered about the exposed east coast and nearby inland. A new trough will enter western Queensland, producing isolated showers over parts of the southern interior, with possible isolated thunderstorms near the southern interior border. Fine and mostly sunny conditions are expected in the northwest of the state. Sunday 1 June The trough should continue to move slowly eastwards, entering the far southwest of the Darling Downs district late in the day. Isolated showers are expected near and to the east of the trough, mostly through the southern and southeastern interior, with isolated thunderstorms possible near the New South Wales border. Isolated showers are expected along much of the east coast, scattered about the North Tropical Coast. Much of the west of the state will be fine and mostly sunny in the dry air to the west of the trough. Maximum temperatures should return close to average in the southwest of the state. Monday 2 June The trough will remain slow moving over the southeast interior of the state whilst a moist onshore flow will continue about the central and northern east coast. Isolated showers are expected about eastern districts, more frequent about the central and north tropical coasts. Isolated showers are also possible about the central and southeast interior in association with the trough.
