A few showers about this morning especially in the western suburbs which didnt hang around for too long, just leaving us with some cloud cover today and keeping it pleasantly cool but the showers did return this afternoon. Not much change for tomorrow although am hoping for a nice downpour to keep greening up those lawns and gardens. Currently its 25.5C and the humidity is 66%..........Below is your forecast for tomorrow. ____________________________________________________ This is the Official Forecast for Thursday 15th of May 2014 for Gladstone to Cooktown and west to Mt Isa. ____________________________________________________ Weather Situation A high in the Tasman Sea is expected to remain near stationary while slowly strengthening towards the weekend, maintaining a firm ridge over Queensland. An upper trough over the central interior will weaken as it drifts eastwards in the coming days, contracting off the east coast during Friday. Forecast for the rest of Wednesday The high in the Tasman Sea should work with the weakening upper trough to produce isolated to scattered showers with some local thunder over Queenslands eastern districts. Dry and mostly clear over the remainder of the state. Fresh to strong southeast winds along the east coast, and mainly moderate southeast to northeast winds elsewhere. Thursday 15 May The upper trough should drift towards the east coast and it, along with a persistent onshore flow, should maintain isolated to scattered showers about the eastern districts, with a chance of storms about the central coasts and northeast tropics. Fine and mostly sunny over the remainder of the state. Fresh to strong southeast winds along the east coast, and mainly moderate southeast to northeast winds elsewhere. Friday 16 May A high pressure system in the Tasman Sea should maintain mostly isolated showers about Queenslands eastern districts and fine and mostly sunny conditions over the interior.
