Good Afternoon everyone. I have an update on Anna. Yesterday evening we took some more xrays of her pelvis and hind legs. Unfortunately it looks like she has broken her pelvis in 2 places and she has also broken her fibula in the left leg. We have submitted her xrays Dr Linde, our orthopedic surgeon, to see what he recommends. Typically with pelvis fractures we treat them conservatively with cage rest, pain medications and time to heal. The fibula is not a weight bearing bone and the alignment is not bad so we are not going to cast, nor are we going to rush into surgery at this time. She is comfortable standing on the leg and it will heal on its own given time. We have started physiotherapy on her today to help her heal quickly and comfortably. Although this is all bad news, there is some good news. She is still happy and bright and seems comfortable. Her bruising looks better and we removed her IV catheter this morning. She is still eating well and takes her medications like a trooper.
