Good Christmas Eve Morning! Im in for Matt today. Have the rain gear handy today, you’ll need it. The weather will be quite frightful. Also, temperatures this afternoon have a big spike. This afternoon, expect a soaking rain across the area, daytime highs also expected to reach the upper 50s to middle 60s along the southside with a southerly influence to our winds kicking in. Rainfall estimates by the time all is said and done stand in the 1-2” category area wide. Also, with the dynamics of this storm and our warmer temperatures this afternoon… we can’t rule out an isolated thunderstorm along the southside. If traveling by air this afternoon, be prepared for delays, as this storm affects areas from Atlanta to New England. Overnight, the rainfall gradually comes to an end. Winds will turn breezy late. Winds, sustained, at around 11mph, gusting at times as high as 21 miles an hour. Lows tonight, warm for this time of year, in the low 40s. Christmas Day, we return to seasonable weather. Partly sunny skies return.. winds still breezy…highs in the mid-upper 40s. Looking ahead, Friday and Saturday will be much nicer. Sunshine with highs in the 50s to near 60 both days. Watch for some showers on Sunday.
