Id like to have a small reception for the students and their families and friends after the recital. Ill be sending out signups for food/drinks/paper goods next week! NATS COMPETITIONS - There are three high profile competitions that are open for submissions: National Student Auditions - open for everyone 14-30. Competition categories in Musical Theater and Classical. This is a big competition with over $30,000 in prizes. National Musical Theater Competition- open for singers 20-28. First prize is $5,000! Nats Artist Awards - open for emerging professionals in clasical. Cash, prizes and a full scholarship to the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria. SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA VOCAL ASSOCIATION JR HIGH HONOR CHOIR This is a very prestigious choir for Jr High and 9th grade singers! Membership in the Junior High Honor Choir is based on a successful audition. Singers must be able to demonstrate that they can perform the following: 1. Sing a major scale up and down (a cappella) 2. Sing a major triad and a minor triad (a cappella) 3. Sing an octave (a cappella) 4. Sight read one melodic and one rhythmic example 5. Sing tonal memory patterns 6. Sing America/My Country ‘Tis of Thee (a cappella) Regional Audition Dates Saturday, January 18: Lincoln Middle School, Santa Monica Saturday, January 25: Irvine High School, Irvine Mesa Robles Middle School, Hacienda Heights Travis Ranch Middle School, Yorba Linda Westview High School, Poway Regional Rehearsal Sites and Times Saturday, March 15, Saturday, 9am - 1pm John Adams Middle School (Santa Monica) Saturday, March 22, 9am - 1pm: Mesa Robles Middle School (Hacienda Heights) Final Rehearsal and Performance Location: John Adams Middle School, Santa Monica Date: Saturday, April 26 Rehearsal sessions will be from 10:00am to 6:00pm Concert is at 6:00pm Please let me know if you would like more information on any of these possibilities!
