Good Evening..... This Time Last Sunday.....After Two Failed Attemtps, To Get On The Road, The Third Time, Proved to Be The Charm, and Off To CA We Headed...... Under The Gun, Timewise--- Last -Minute Acquisition of a Lift-Equipped RV..... Many, Many Fixes Needed..... Folks At Freighliner Tulsa.....Went Above and Beyond....Letting Bus In Shop Already Booked Into The Next Week..... Nail-Biting Hours in , First One Shop, Then Another..... T & W Tire.....Holding Their Doors Open, After Hours To Change Out Tires In Less Than An Hour..... Mid-Week, Driver, Opts Out......Other Plans.... Literally, Midnite Recruiting, of Some Wonderful Fill-Ins...... These Folks, Dropped What They Were Doing, and Headed Our Way.... ... Missed Flight by One.....ReScheduling.. .. Love and Unending Thanx to Ms Betty, Mr Troy and Mr Kasey. All The Time.....Watching The Clock Tick..... The Window, Closing , All The Time, ........Getting Closer and Closer To The Point Of Impossible To Reach CA In Time For Jackys Scheduled Procedure..... Quite By Accident...Find Out Wipers Have Quit Working..... (Raining On Way to Fill Up Propane).....Yet Another Shop ....Wades RV.... Like So Many Others...Standing/Parking Room Only..... Opened Their Hearts, Shop Door, and Mechanical Expertise, To Jackys Need.... Ah, Finally, Departure...Saturday Morning....Didnt Quite Make OKC....and Nuther Major Issue...... Back To Tulsa....and Back To Wades....Resolution.....Back on The Road... This Time, Walmart Next Door........Attention To Jackys Routine....Put Things In Order...and Onto the Turnpike.... For TWO Whole Miles!!..... More Alarms, Buzzing and Flashing Lites!.... The LORD Definitely Looking Out....as Mr Jay of Wades Had Seen Fit To Give Me His Cell Number With Admonition To Call With Any Questions Or Needs.... How Fortuitous That Proved To Be,,,, His Reply At My Call....See You At The Shop.... Called Mr Joe Back In From Home-This After Spending the Day In The Rain, Working On the Bus.... Diagnosis--More Parts/Work Needed..... By Now, Jacky and Crew Has Been On Bus Close to 12 Hours....and Gotten Less Than 100 Miles.... New Plan.....Jacky and Everybody Back To House. and I Returned To Shop With Bus---- By The Time Jacky Was Bedded Down and I Headed Back....almost 11 pm.... Whew, It Was Getting Tight. We Decided To Try and Match Parts Needed At Kenworth.... In The Meantime.... Plan Z.....Sift Thru Buses on Lot, To Ascertain If Any Could Possibly Accomodate Jacky In His Chair, And His Assorted Equipment, That Was Necessary for The Trip....No Lifts Needless To Say, But By This Time....We Were Just Going To Wing It, and Load Him With A Hand Carry In A Sling..... So, Techs Going Thru Two That Could Possibly Work , To Assess Road Worthiness, while Mr Joe Would Begin The Tear Down On Ours.... Jay Told Me Hed Call With Status Later.... In The Wee Hours....The Call Came!.... Bus Was Ready-- They Went So Far As To Offer To Bring It To Us....Blessings To These Gentleman.... Without, Each And Every Tech, Shop Foreman, And Assistant That Worked On The Bus....Jackys Stem Cell Treatment Would Not Have Been Possible..... Our Deepest And Most Sincere Gratitude For Those Non-Clock Watchers, Who Stepped Up, In Our Time of Need.... We Drove Thru What Surely Must Have Been Monsoons, That Got Misplaced;-70 mph Winds.....Hail, Sleet..Dust Storms.... Maybe Someone Thought We Were Auditioning For The US Mail Servcie???....LOL Oh Yeah, and I Uhmmm, Got The Bus Stuck In The Mud...In What I Thought Was A Parking Lot..... When I Finally Regained The Pavement, Jacky, Very Calmly, Requested That I Not Attempt Mud-Bogging Again On This Trip..... All the Time....Driving, Driving--Watching The Clock....The Tension A Bit Softened, When A Fuel Stop Was Combined With A Visit From Mason And Tami....Who Came out In The Middle of The Nite, Since We Were Passing Thru Midland... Jacky Embraced Every Single Minute, of The Five He Got To Spend With Mason.....and Back Into The Windy, Nite We Headed..... Keeping In Continual Contact , With His Surgeons Daughter-in-law..... Ms Wendy, Was The Ongoing Relay, Charting Our Progress Across The Country.... Bless You Girl....Youll Never Know.... Tuesday Saw Us In CA.... We Pulled Into The Clinic.....Off The Bus....And, Right Down To Business... The Business of Improving Jackys Quality of Life. Doctors and Staff--Warm , Effusive, and Amazing. From Reception-Filling Out Forms.....Introductions..... To Our Goal..... The Collection of Jackys Stem Cells.... That Little Tube of Vivid Colorful Stripes.... Represent A New Life For My Husband - Ms Wendys Caption For Our Picture..... LOVE And Stem Cells Heal.The Body... Bless All The Folks Who Came Together To Help Make This Possible....Wouldnt Have Happened Without You.........
