Good Fanatics Friends and Family Friday Morning everyone. Thank you for helping us give respect to the fallen of the September 11, 2001 tragedy by going Internet Silent yesterday. Your support on both Disney Fanatics and The Fun Page was amazing. With over 3000 members, it is a tall order to just ask everyone to not post or comment for the day and with the exception of a few solicitors you all did great job in honoring those who lost their lives 13 years ago. I have been a contractor my whole career and worked in NYC very often. I made many friends in the trades that reside and work in NYC and I found out that 3 people who I became friendly with were in the towers when they fell. My co-worker was also in route to the towers that morning and had to turn around and go home because he realized his daughter took his phone. Had he not turned around he would have also been in the towers. My father sat on the NJ turnpike, in traffic, and watched the whole attack. A vision he will never forget. I was assigned to a job in NYC 2 weeks after the attack and volunteered one day to help with the clean up efforts. Contractors were welcomed to help. That is a day I will never forget and the saddest part was to see all of the vehicles parked in the streets. You could tell who didnt make it; some cars were clean and many more were covered in 3-4 inches of concrete dust. I remember walking by the fire station a block away with only 1 wall left and a fireman sitting in the middle of what was the main room. Our appointed official said that he has been sitting there since day one, he was the only survivor from his station. So many stories and so many visions I can not get rid of from just that one day that its honestly hard to keep my composure as I write this. I usually take this day hard, I guess because I was there and saw first hand the devastation. So I thank you all for taking a break for a day and giving the victims of 9/11 their due respect..
