Good! I was looking for beat around the bush. That means to talk - TopicsExpress

Good! I was looking for beat around the bush. That means to talk about other things to avoid talking about something directly, or to build up courage to say what you want. Maria said beating the bushes, which means to look hard for something. I can see that in the posted picture as well. Heres an example: A: Mr. Boss, sir, you know my wife is expecting a new baby... B: Yeah? Congratulations. A: And we need a bigger place to live. B: Oh really? A: And my work has really been very good... B: Out with it, man. Stop beating around the bush and say what you want to say! A: I need a raise. B: No chance. You better start beating the bushes for a new job if thats what you need.
