Good Monday Morning!! Something I have believed in for years - TopicsExpress

Good Monday Morning!! Something I have believed in for years and has really helped me is one simple phrase “everything happens for a reason.” Undoubtedly you’ve all heard that phrase, but have you really ever taken the time to think about it? Has something happened where you think “why me”? Then later down the road you realize that circumstances led you to the present. I have a few examples where I remember wondering “what am I going to do”, and “why me”. Then after those circumstances passed and something greater occurred I realized the truth in the words “everything happens for a reason”. It was one of those very situations that lead me Yukon, Oklahoma. And now I’m living my dream as a result of the situation I found myself in. I was young and stupid. I had just graduated college and, like most college graduates, had no clue what my next in life would be. To make a long story short I found myself in a situation that would dramatically affect my future. I can honestly say I hit rock bottom. I didn’t know what I was going to do with my life. Nor did I know what I was going to do moving forward. I had a buddy who had just moved to the city. He was also a trainer and had just started working with Fitness Together. He backed me up and encouraged me to get a job personal training, so I uprooted and moved to the city. I knew I wanted to own a gym when I was older but had no vision of that path. Being a broke recent college graduate blocked that dream. I spoke with my parents about possibly funding me to open a gym but knew that I needed to prove myself not only to my parents but to myself as well. So I started the job and poured myself into it. I was going to learn the infrastructure and slowly work my way to owning a gym, that was the plan. I busted my butt and was promoted to FT Yukon in August of 2006. At that time I was in discussions with the owner about buying in and becoming a partner with him. I was scared and definitely didn’t want to take that leap by myself. Going forward I worked at the newly opened studio from 6am to 9pm and learned how to run the business. My hard work paid off and a client noticed my work ethic. He knew my plans of partnering in the business and asked me “how much would it be for you to buy the gym 100%?” I told him that I had no clue. That thought hadn’t occurred to me yet. I found out the bottom line purchase price and my client, who I had helped with some physical ailments, decided that I was worthy of a chance, he believed in me. So he put money in the bank and I took a loan thanks to his generosity. I haven’t looked back since. The next time life is gloomy, and you think “why me”, just remember, “Everything happens for a reason.” Because of my own story I am a true believer and will always be. Having that belief has gotten me through tons of other issues. So chin up, everything happens for a reason. Be Relentless, Seth Humphrey P.S.
