Good Monday Morning to you My Dear Friends.... How are you? Last evening from 5.30pm onwards, the whole nation was glued to the TV to watch and cheer our Thomas Cup Team playing in the final against Japan. All of us were really hoping that our Thomas Cup Team would win and be the Champion... The Team members were formidable and had diisplayed their focus and commitment and wonderful performance.. Datuk Lee Chong Wei won the first set, convincingly. . Our first double Hoon/Tan played well and fought a great game but did not win.. Our 2nd single Chong Wei Fern gave an impressive fight but Kento played better. . The 2nd double of Tan/Goh had a marvelous but tough game but they won.. So it was 2-2.... All eyes were on the 3rd single. . Darren Liew.. We can imagine the tremendous pressure on him, the country honour and history now depended on him.. It showed in his frist game and into his third quarter of the second game. Most of us were hoping that he could say a little prayer and spring back.. Indeed he did miraculously and played so well and with full confidence. He won and forcing a a rubber set,.. This won lifted our spirit again...Then the 3rd set... It was full of excitment with joy and disappointment... But he lost narrowly after a well fought game... He must have felt very disappointed with himself for letting the country down but for me, I could see that he really gave his best.. Though we are disappinted that our Thomas Cup Team did not win and thus no public holiday today as many would love to have, we nevertheless SALUTE them for an Amazing and Magnificent performances throughout the Thomas Cup competition. They had put in countless hours of training and have forgone a lot of other things in their quest to be the best in our country and to represent our nation.. Thank you to our Thomas Cup Team, Coaches, supporters and most importantly all of us, Malaysians, are UNITED here ti give our strongest support to these warriors. . Wishing you all a Great Monday and Fabulous week ahead, with more talks of this Wonderful Thomas Cup Final. God bless us all with Happiness. . Seb
